Special Olympics: Southern Stars
The South Mississippi Elite Special Olympics team is open to boys and girls of all ages. The team was started in 2007 and became the first special needs All-Star cheerleading team in the state of Mississippi.

The Tiny team is open to both boys and girls. This team is a beginner level team. Many kids on the team are new to cheerleading and are learning body control, flexibility, fundamentals of cheerleading, and back handsprings.

The Mini team is open to both boys and girls. This team is a beginner level Team. All of the kids on the team have a back bend kick-over and are working on backhandsprings. These children are working on the fundamentals of cheerleading, stunting and tumbling.

Small Senior Elite Level 5:
The Small Senior team is the original Level 5 team from South Mississippi Elite. They were the only All-Girl Level 5 team in the State of Mississippi; now we are COED!!! In 2006, they were the second team in Mississippi to have ever received a Bid to Worlds. The team has placed and won national championships at Deep South, UCA, Cheersport, Cheer Athletic, and many more. The requirements are pike tuck, hurdler tuck, triple toe touch tuck, back handspring layout, full twist or working on full twist.
